The Sunny Boy SB6000US single-phase hybrid inverter is the two-in-one solution to add solar power to your home or DC Solar trailer.

Problem: The MidNite Classic 250 on your DC Solar trailer is limited to 3200 watts of PV, often less due to non-working fans. It also runs in open loop and cannot communicate with the rest of the system.

Solution: The Sunny Boy inverter gives you more than double the amount of PV capability (up to 7500 watt array size) and interacts with the Sunny Island inverters to maximize safety and efficiency of the system. Unlike the MidNite Classic, the Sunny Island inverters can control the Sunny Boy to limit PV output for times when the battery is nearly full. This works especially well with our LiFePO4 energy storage systems, which feature the ability to communicate with the Sunny Island inverters.

Configuration

We've configured this Sunny Boy to work with the existing Sunny Island system found in your DC Solar trailer. That includes  Simply plug the included wiring into one of the two 240v outlets on the side of the enclosure, connect a PV array to the included MC4 connectors, and you're good to go!

This system comes with a DC Disconnect switch for added protection. The inverter has one solar input (MPPT), which we pre-wire with MC4 connectors for a simple plug and play connection. We can add up to two additional (3 total) MC4 pairs; contact us to request. Note that any arrays connected to the Sunny Boy will need to be the same PV panels in the same parallel/series configuration and will require separate fusing for each array.

This Sunny Boy is used and will exhibit signs of wear, but we test each one before it leaves our shop.

If using the existing PV array on the trailer: The existing PV panels will need to be wired in series to achieve enough voltage for the Sunny Boy. We can

Shipping
