Lithium Ion Electric Forklift Batteries

Higher Wire can upgrade your electric forklift from its existing lead acid battery to safe, reliable lithium. We use the original enclosure and fill it with quality lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells controlled by a sophisticated battery management system (BMS) to offer the performance of lithium at a lead acid price. We even use steel plates as ballast so you don't lose lifting capacity.

Our batteries can typically be used with existing lead acid chargers, but contact us to be sure.

All Higher Wire lithium electric forklift batteries are backed by a leading warranty.

Why Switch to Lithium?

Faster charging: Lithium batteries are far more efficient -- about 95% vs. 80% for lead. That means that they can handler higher charging amps and less power is wasted as heat.

Less maintenance: Lithium requires no watering, and there's no other maintenance to speak of. Simply keep them charged and they'll reliably operate for years.

More power: Lithium batteries have lower internal resistance and a flat voltage curve. That translates to more power to handle loads.

Longer runtime: Lithium batteries can be discharged to 100% of their rated capacity, whereas lead shouldn't be operated below 50% depth of discharge (DOD) for maximum lifecycle. Lithium also has double the lifespan of lead -- 2,000 to 3,000 cycles vs. 1,500.

More productivity: A typical lead acid forklift battery cycle consists of 8 hours of run time followed by 8 hours of charging. A lithium battery with the same advertised capacity can run up to twice as long and can be charged much faster -- generally only 4 hours or less. That means less downtime and more productivity.

Lower total cost of ownership: Our lithium forklift batteries are cost-competitive with lead acid. With lower charging costs and longer lifespan, our batteries have a far lower lifecycle costs.

How it Works

  1. Use the Contact Us form below or email sales@higherwire.com for an estimate of cost and lead time. Include your make and model forklift. Also include battery voltage, capacity and part number if possible. Pictures help!
  2. We will reply with an estimate cost and turn time, as well as payment and shipping instructions.
  3. Properly package and ship us your existing battery. You can remove and recycle the lead acid cells, or we can remove them for a flat $100 fee.
  4. We will use your existing enclosure to build a high-performance lithium battery and ship it back.
  5. Install your lithium battery and fully charge before use.
