3D Printed Parts
In addition to retail sales, we manufacture battery energy storage systems (BESS) using the same Second Life lithium ion cells that we sell. The majority of our BESS find themselves in solar lights and other low-drain applications that can take advantage of the long-life and relatively inexpensive cost to upgrade to lithium.
In order to fit a square peg into a round (but not 18650-sized) hole, we often need to design and build custom mounts. And the best way to do this is to use a 3D printer.
After a lengthy review process that included talking with friends and other manufacturers, we settled on a Creality CR-10S Pro v2. There were many factors that played into our decision, but in short: it is tough to beat the sticky build plate, BLTouch automatic leveling system, massive 300x300x400mm build volume, and quality of parts in its price range. Plus 2-day shipping from Amazon was a no-brainer.
We've since designed custom brackets for numerous fielded batteries, as well as myriad of essential tools and other helpful bits to keep the shop rolling.
Do you need cell holders or other equipment that can be 3D printed? Contact us at email@example.com and we'll come up with a cost-effective solution for you. While the actual printing is inexpensive, the design and engineering involved will play into total cost. That said, we strive to provide a low-cost way of customizing your build and will minimize cost wherever possible.
Or are you interested in 3D printing? Give us an email and we'd be happy to discuss our experiences and give some pointers free of charge.
